There is so much to do in the City of Spokane and the surrounding areas that we couldn’t possibly provide a comprehensive list here, but to whet your appetite, we have listed some of our favorites. For a complete schedule of events and activities, visit the Spokane Regional Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
Parks & Recreation
Spokane offers a wealth of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Riverside State Park offers boating, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, tennis, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, hiking trails and more. Mount Spokane is a favorite spot for downhill skiers. The avid golfer can find paradise at many of our challenging courses. For a complete list of courses and fees, click here.
Riverfront Park, located in downtown Spokane, offers movie theaters, ice-skating and a scenic skyride overlooking the Spokane Falls. Other, more tranquil city destinations include Coeur d’Alene Park, Manito Park, Corbin Park and Audubon Park.
Spokane’s annual Hoopfest and 12K Lilac Bloomsday Run draw visitors from around the corner and around the world. If you prefer spectator sports, The Spokane Arena is home to our baseball, football, hockey and soccer teams - or for a bit of added fun, try an evening of casino gambling or an afternoon at Spokane Raceway Park
Art & Culture
If you are looking for indoor recreation, Spokane is a haven for artistic and cultural events. Begin with a visit to the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, located within walking distance of The Fotheringham House. You can also tour a variety of galleries and even chat with the artists themselves. The Spokane Symphony often performs at the Metropolitan Performing Arts Center, where you can also view foreign films and theatrical performances and listen to classical music ensembles, jazz troupes and sounds of the Big Band Era. The INB Performing Arts Center at the Convention Center is another venue to feed your cultural appetite.
The Spokane Arts Commission also provides a list of current events throughout our community, including juried art exhibits, concerts, theater performances and more.
